THE BIG STORY

Against all odds, Grenadiers make all the right moves to march to their first BDFL title

GARDENDALE - The US Army doesn't hold grudges, but it seemed like it when the Grenadiers finally avenged Custer's Last Stand at the Battle of Little Big Horn with a monumental vict'ry over the Injuns in an epic Big Daddy Bowl for the ages. When the 8th seeded "Special Forces" para trooped onto Ed Bruce Field at kick-off you knew they were on a butt-kicking mission. With precision execution the fearless Green Berets marched thru Kawliga like a dose of salt through a widow woman. Pundits said this day would never come and will now eat crow as the Grand Daddy makes its new home on the Grenadiers mantle. In 2009, the Grenades changed to the Grenadiers to establish a winning attitude and lay the ground work for their first title. With a "never say die" mentality and a keen draft strategy, the G-Men finally reached the BDFL's pinnacle after 15 years of futility. The Woodies again played the bloody bridesmaid on the Trail of Tears.

#27 Knowshon Moreno celebrates the Grenadiers 27-12 Big Daddy Bowl VIII vict'ry over the Wooden Warriors
